Founder of Kazi Farms Group
Kazi Zahedul Hasan, a distinguished architect, and engineer, holds an M. Arch. degree from Harvard University, USA. He served as a professor in the Department of Architecture at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, and at the School of Environmental Design, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
With extensive architectural experience in the USA and Saudi Arabia, he is a member of The American Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects. Founding and managing Kazi Fashion Limited for nearly two decades, he shifted his prime focus to the poultry business. Controversy of Kazi Farms Group
Kazi Farms Group faced controversy when the Bangladesh Competition Commission filed a case against the company for allegedly disrupting the market’s stability by raising egg prices at a rate higher than usual. The case hearing took place just four days later, during which the Commission criticized the company’s pricing strategy for eggs.
Kazi Farms defended its position by explaining that the abnormal spike in egg prices for a week was due to a shortage of trucks caused by a nationwide increase in diesel prices.
Economist Indranil Chakraborty, after examining Kazi Farms’ auction system, deemed it a fair and rational method for selling agricultural commodities like eggs, acknowledging their susceptibility to daily fluctuations driven by supply and demand dynamics.
